With Dallas leading 20-9 in the fourth quarter, Romo made a gaffe with an intentional grounding. On the very next play on third and long, Romo winds up and hits Miles Austin along the sideline for the touchdown to put Green Bay to bed.

That's a tough road win for the 3-0 Cowboys. Marion Barber is a star. Felix Jones is the ultimate partner in crime.

3. It's two days later and I still don't believe it.

Miami 38, New England 13.

I thought the turning point in this game was going to be the coin toss. As long as that happened, the Pats would win.

That's why you love football.

How the heck does one of the least talented teams in the NFL march into New England and manhandle the Patriots while stopping their regular-season win streak at 21?

Dolphins offensive coordinator Dan Henning deserves a game ball. He consistently lined up back Ronnie Brown under center.

And Brown had a day for the ages. The running back rushed for three touchdowns from that formation. Brown threw for a TD. Brown totaled five touchdowns.

Miami just whipped New England in every phase of the game. The Dolphins outgained the Pats 461 yards to 216. It's like the Patriots were running in quick sand.

Chad Pennington was efficient. Anthony Fasano had a big game at tight end. Joey Porter backed up his words with a great defensive effort.

On Sirius NFL Radio on Monday, Fasano gave Sparano all the credit in the world for getting the team ready and for establishing a culture of football importance. Fasano stressed that with the week of practice Miami had, the players believed this would happen.

Tony Sparano's team beat up Bill Belichick's Patriots.

You had to see it to believe it.

Miami has a bright future under Sparano and his staff.

4. Raiders lead 23-14 with 6:23 left. The Bills in jeopardy of being on the wrong side of a gigantic upset special. Survivor pools being ripped up nation wide. Everyone in lovely Western New York knows the Patriots have already lost.

Panic? No. It's Trent Edwards time.

The Bills' second-year quarterback has a knack of saving his best for last. Edwards marched the Bills 69 yards, capping the drive with a touchdown pass to Roscoe Parrish. After a Raiders three-and-out, Edwards made a few more clutch throws to help put the Bills in position for a Rian Lindell game-winner at the gun.

It was special stuff for the 3-0 Bills. Oakland somehow outplayed them in every area for 3½ quarters. And Buffalo survived.

Speaking about the key touchdown drive, Parrish told us Monday on Sirius NFL Radio, "Before the drive Edwards told us, 'This drive is going to turn the game around.' It's great to hear that and see that from your young quarterback."

Parrish also went out of his way to give a lot of credit to different people for the Bills' 3-0 start. The list included new defensive leaders Marcus Stroud and Kawika Mitchell, brilliant special-teams coach Bobby April and head coach Dick Jauron.

5. Time for my weekly take on the sad state of affairs for the St. Louis Rams.

It's obvious Scott Linehan has lost the team. In fact, he never had them.

He needs to go sooner than later. Like whenever you are reading this.

But don't stop there. By the time Jan. 1 rolls around, the Rams need a total housecleaning of their "football department." And I use that term loosely.

A 37-13 loss to the banged-up Seahawks? That's pathetic. That's Rams football.

6. The Titans are 3-0.

Jeff Fisher is one of the greatest coaches in all of sports.

7. When Peyton Manning led the Colts down the field against Jacksonville and gave Indy the lead with one minute to go, I thought it was over.

"It" being both the game and the Jags' season.

David Garrard finally channeled the quarterback we saw last year, driving the Jags and taking advantage of a pass-interference call.

The Schein Nine: Campbell shines for 'Skins 2008-09-24

The Schein Nine: Campbell shines for 'Skins 2008-09-24
The Rams are pathetic.

But there's good news — at least they don't have Tyler Thigpen at quarterback.

Time for Schein's Nine Nuggets after Week 3.

1. Jim Zorn and the Redskins deserve an incredible amount of credit for their win against the Cardinals.

I picked Arizona to win the game. The week before I selected New Orleans. Don't minimize the wins because they were at home for Washington. Most folks, myself obviously included, would say the Saints and Cardinals were the better teams. Factor that in with the way the 'Skins battled back after the ugly defeat to the Giants in Week 1, and you can color me incredibly impressed.

The defense, led by Rocky McIntosh, Carlos Rogers and Marcus Washington, flew around and made big plays in huge spots against the Cards' high-powered offense.

But the biggest nugget to chew on from this 24-17 win was the continued growth of Jason Campbell. He looked poised and comfortable in Zorn's new offense, the third different one in just his fourth year of pro ball. Campbell was 23-of-30 for 198 yards, two touchdowns, and most especially, no picks. Campbell got seven different targets involved, including finally establishing Chris Cooley for the first time this season. Cooley had seven catches, as did Santana Moss. Campbell hit Moss just two plays after Rogers made a sensational interception. It was an ultra-clutch sequence. After a very spotty Week 1, Campbell looks the part.

Washington has Dallas this week in Big D before traveling to Philadelphia. That would mean all three NFC East foes, three teams I believe will be playoff-bound, on the road in the first five weeks. It's why it was huge to grab those first two home wins of the season. Excellent bounce-back effort by the Skins.

2. This is what makes Tony Romo special. He has the uncanny ability to shake off a bad play when he tries to do too much.

Five guys, five goats
