REPORT CARD VS. COWBOYS
RUSHING OFFENSE: F -- Returning to Dallas to play against his former team, Julius Jones not only gained only 37 yards on 11 carries, but he fumbled twice, losing the first one, which led to Dallas' second touchdown. The Seahawks totaled 80 yards on the ground with a 3.5-yard average.
PASSING OFFENSE: B -- QB Matt Hasselbeck looked as solid as he has all season, completing 22 of 38 passes 287 yards, the first time he has thrown for more than 200 yards this season. All of that came despite getting sacked seven times and hit countless others. TE John Carlson, the team's leading receiver, had six catches for 105 yards.
RUSHING DEFENSE: C -- The Seahawks managed reasonably well against Marion Barber, limiting him to 34 yards, though he injured his foot and left the game in the second half. His replacement, Tashard Choice, had 57 yards, but most came at the end of the game, when both teams had mailed it in.
PASSING DEFENSE: F-minus -- The front four got zero pressure on Tony Romo, who picked apart the secondary to the tune of 331 yards and three touchdowns. The linebackers failed to account for TE Jason Witten, who had nine receptions for 115 yards and a score, and the pass rush never got to Romo one time. CB Marcus Trufant did have is first interception of the season.
SPECIAL TEAMS: B-minus -- K Olindo Mare had three field goals to account for all the scoring. But the kickoff return team gave up a 58-yarder to former University of Washington QB Isaiah Stanback. Jon Ryan had a nice day of punting, averaging 50.1 yards on seven punts.
COACHING: D -- Defensive coordinator John Marshall started the game in a zone against Tony Romo, which allowed him to exploit every seam in the secondary. He completed 11 of his first 13 attempts. The offense played pretty well but was unable to get into the end zone once it got into Dallas' side of the field.
