REPORT CARD VS. EAGLES
PASSING OFFENSE: C -- The Seahawks opened the game with a 90-yard touchdown pass to Koren Robinson, the longest play in franchise history. Thereafter, it totaled 57 yards, with quarterback Seneca Wallace completing only 13 of 29 passes. There were several costly drops, including one crucial one by rookie tight end John Carlson.
RUSHING OFFENSE: D-minus -- For the second consecutive week, the Seahawks gained less than 100 yards on the ground, picking up just 86 yards on 22 carries, 30 of which came on a meaningless final drive.
PASS DEFENSE: F -- The Seahawks' pass rush was effective for about half a quarter, but thereafter Eagles QB Donovan McNabb picked Seattle apart for 349 yards and two touchdowns. At one point, McNabb completed 13 consecutive passes, this after missing his first seven attempts.
RUSH DEFENSE: B -0 Seattle actually did a very nice job containing Eagles scat back Brian Westbrook, who rushed for only 61 yards on 20 carries. The rush defense has been the strength of the defense all season.
SPECIAL TEAMS: D-minus -- The special teams didn't do anything particularly well, but twice it failed to have 11 men on the field in punt coverage, once being forced to call a timeout, another time drawing a delay of game penalty.
COACHING: F -- Mike Holmgren took the blame for telling QB Seneca Wallace to spike the ball on third down, forcing the team to punt on fourth down. There were the aforementioned mistakes on punt coverage. Holmgren admitted after the game he was embarrassed by the team's lack of preparation.
