Seattle Seahawks Strategy and Personnel 2009-03-13

With the recent signing of offensive lineman Ray Willis, the Seahawks added depth up front as insurance in case Walter Jones cannot return from microfracture knee surgery. However, Seattle must continue to beef up the offensive line either through free agency or the draft.

Seattle also must address the defensive secondary by bringing in a more physical presence at safety and a bigger body at cornerback to help defend against bigger receivers like Arizona's Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin.

1. Defensive line: Seattle could use another rusher to help improve its pass rush off the edge, and may also want to add another big body inside for more depth.

2. Safety: Seattle brought in Tampa Bay's Jermaine Phillips for a visit, but he re-signed with the Bucs. The Seahawks could use a more physical presence here.

3. Offensive line: With the Seahawks switching to more of a zone blocking scheme, they could use a couple, more athletic lineman to go along with that change in philosophy.
