--Jets QB Brett Favre said he remembers the first time Mike Holmgren addressed the Packers as their head coach. "He scared not only me, but he scared our team," Favre said. "He said, 'I'll run half you guys off, but I got to build a team. In time, half of you will be gone. I want guys who are winners, who believe in winning, and believe in doing it a certain way. We're going (to the Super Bowl) soon. Now, if you want to be on board, be on board. But if you don't want to do it the way I want to do it, you're going to be gone, and you know who you are.'"

--Jets QB Brett Favre and Seahawks QB Matt Hasselbeck remain close. Hasselbeck started his career at Favre's understudy in Green Bay, where he was a sixth-round pick. Favre said Hasselbeck has such a good relationship with Mike Holmgren because Favre softened Holmgren up for Hasselbeck. And I don't know, maybe that was the case with Mike."

--In many ways, it was a game between the Jets and Seahawks that changed Seattle's fortunes - and instant replay. In a December game in 1998, Jets QB Vinny Testaverde scrambled toward the end zone. He was brought down by the Seahawks, but the ball did not cross the goal line. Still, referee Phil Luckett signaled that Testaverde had scored, giving the Jets a 32-31 victory. It knocked the Seahawks from the playoffs, got Dennis Erickson fired and prompted Seattle to hire Mike Holmgren.
