--WR Deion Branch said that before he caught the 45-yard pass that set up the Seahawks' game-winning field goal against St. Louis on Sunday, he told cornerbacks Jason Craft and Ron Bartell he was going to burn them. Just before the play was going to be run, quarterback Seneca Wallace called a timeout. Branch looked around the corners and downfield, prompting Bartell to ask Branch what he was doing. "I'm trying to figure out where I am going to catch this football at," Branch told them. "They took it as a joke - but I was serious."
--Some of kicker Olindo Mare's teammates are calling him the team's MVP. Not only because Mare won the Rams game with his 27-yarder as time expired, but also because he is the only player who has played consistently well, hitting 22 of 24 attempts this season. "I don't look at it like that," Mare said. "MVPs are guys who are doing it on every play. We get credit for a lot of stuff, and we are just doing what we are supposed to do. If we didn't do it, then we would get criticized. But we got a lot of guys in here who work all day long and I get to come out and get all the glory."
