-- Perhaps more shocking than the Seahawks' blowout loss to Dallas on national television was that left tackle Walter Jones twice was beat by DeMarcus Ware for sacks. Jones had gone entire seasons without relinquishing a sack, but at 34 he is neither as healthy nor as nimble as he once was.
"He made some plays, know what I'm saying?" Jones said. "You get used to a certain thing, and everybody's like, 'That can't happen.' But it does happen. This is football; it can happen. I try my hardest not to give up sacks, but it's part of the game."
-- Because starting center Chris Spencer has a sore back, Steve Vallos started.
Vallos has not played center since the preseason, when Spencer had a sore back, and has only gotten in two games this season, on special teams and as a guard. Vallos gave up one sack himself against Tank Johnson and was part of an offensive line that gave up a season-high seven sacks.
"It was hard because I haven't played in so long," Vallos said. "I have a lot to learn, like the line calls."
