Seattle BeWare

Seattle BeWare
Dallas linebacker DeMarcus Ware kept Seattle at bay Thursday, and was rewarded for it. Ware recorded three of Dallas' seven sacks and forced a fumble on Seattle's first offensive series, earning him the Galloping Gobbler trophy.

Seattle settled for field goals after both of Ware's first-half sacks.

Ware suffered a knee injury late in the second half, but said he felt better when he walked up the tunnel. Dallas coach Wade Phillips said Ware's injury will be further investigated.

Witten wonderful in win

Jason Witten had a happy Thanksgiving.

The Cowboy tight end had a monster game Thursday against Seattle, hauling in 9 catches for 115 yards and a touchdown.

"He's a really easy guy to play with," said Dallas quarterback Tony Romo. "He makes everyone around him better. He's unbelievable."

Witten logged his 400th career catch - a memorable one - in the win.

On the Cowboys' second drive of the game, Romo rolled right on a naked bootleg and threw the ball to Witten, who one-handed the ball and made the 11-yard first down.

Jones booed, then injured in return

Seattle running back Julius Jones didn't receive a warm Thanksgiving welcome Thursday at Texas Stadium.

In his first game in Dallas since playing for the Cowboys last season, Jones was booed on his first carry, which went for one yard. The booing continued until Jones suffered a head injury late in the second quarter. He was booed again when he returned in the fourth. Jones finished with 37 yards on 11 carries.

Rough day for Hasselbeck

Seattle quarterback Matt Hasselbeck was sacked seven times, including five in the first half. Four different Dallas defenders brought down Hasselbeck, who finished with 287 yards on 22 of 38 passing. Ware and Bradie James each had a pair of sacks before halftime.

Barber banged up

Cowboys' running back Marion Barber suffered a foot injury. Barber left the game in the fourth quarter. Phillips said Barber's X-rays came back negative.

The right Choice

Former Oklahoma running back Tashard Choice filled in for an injured Barber and gave Dallas quality minutes. Choice, who backed up Adrian Peterson for one season at OU before transferring to Georgia Tech, led Dallas in rushing with 57 yards on 11 carries, including a 27-yard run.

"We saw him in preseason and we felt good about what he could do. It's a good thing that this happened again because we got a chance to see him play against people stacked up against the run," Phillips said.

Up next

Dallas has a 10-day break before traveling to Pittsburgh next Sunday. Romo said the rest is much needed before playing in a hostile environment against the top-ranked defense in the NFL.

"If we could win that one it would be huge," Romo said. "It's a great atmosphere. It will be tough."

Romo loves Turkey Day

Romo continues to perform exceptionally on Thanksgiving Day. Thursday was his third Turkey Day game, and he now has 10 career touchdown tosses in them, which passes Troy Aikman's nine in seven less games.
