RANCID RANKINGS
Trailing 26-7 to Arizona on Sunday, the Seahawks had a chance to pull off the second-greatest comeback win in franchise history (in 1995, the Seahawks overcame a 20-point deficit at Denver). Instead, Matt Hasselbeck's third interception sent the Hawks to their eighth loss, and sent his passer rating plunging to 55.0 for the season, a career low. In all, Seattle's three quarterbacks have collaborated for a 65.1 passer rating in 2008. How that compares to teams generally acknowledged as the worst in modern NFL history:

YEAR TEAM RECORD STARTING QB RATE SKINNY

1971 Bills 1-13 Dennis Shaw 45.8

Bills shut out four times; Shaw, James Harris combined for 32 INTs.

1992 Seahawks 2-14 Stan Gelbaugh 48.9

Seahawks QBs combined for nine TD passes and 23 interceptions.

1976 Bucs 0-14 Steve Spurrier 49.4

Spurrier threw only seven touchdown passes in 14 contests.

1973 Oilers 1-13 Dan Pastorini 53.3

Pastorini became the first NFL quarterback to wear a flak jacket.

1989 Cowboys 1-15 Troy Aikman 57.8

Aikman struggled, tossing just nine TD passes and 18 INTs.

2001 Panthers 1-15 Chris Weinke 60.6

After winning opener, Panthers dropped 15 consecutive games.

2000 Chargers 1-15 Ryan Leaf 61.8

Leaf finished with 11 touchdown passes and 18 interceptions.

1996 Jets 1-15 Frank Reich 64.7

Reich completed 52.9 percent of passes; Jets 4+ turnovers 5 times.

2008 Seahawks 2-8 Matt Hasselbeck 65.1

Seneca Wallace 79.5, Hasselbeck 55.0, Charlie Frye 53.4.

1990 Patriots 1-15 Marc Wilson 65.4

Patriots scored a touchdown or less in five of their 16 games.

2007 Dolphins 1-15 Cleo Lemon 69.6

The Dolphins started 0-13 before beating Baltimore 22-16.

1991 Colts 1-15 Jeff George 70.2

Colts set NFL records for fewest points (143) and fewest TDs (14).

1981 Colts 2-14 Bert Jones 72.2

The horrid Colts surrendered an NFL record 533 points.

1980 Saints 1-15 Archie Manning 79.9

Fans wore paper bags over heads, and called the team the "Aints."
