A source told FOXSports.com that the ex-Cincinnati Bengals left tackle will not be traveling next week to meet with the Seahawks as originally scheduled. Instead, Jones will pursue feelers he has received from other teams first.
Jones, 29, was released Wednesday after starting 89 games in seven seasons in Cincinnati. He is considered the top tackle on the free-agent market.
The Seahawks are hoping that nine-time Pro Bowl left tackle Walter Jones can recover from offseason knee surgery to play in 2009. Jones, though, is 35 and his play slipped in 2008.
Seahawks officials have said right tackle Sean Locklear is the h eir apparent to Jones at left tackle.
